Wish you girl all the best, Cancer is not always the death sentence it used to be. Often (not always) the worst thing about it is the terrifying diagnosis. I hope hers is one of those.

Stag do Mr B and one of the blokes I was with was in a bad way after our 20 hour boozing session so I was trying to get him sorted and into a cab home.

Couple of right ugly old cunts were all over him so I done my bit by fucking them off, but then when I was holding him up, they obviously pick pocketed me.

Didn't realise til I was in the cab, so too late to go all Russian on their arses!!

Never help a lightweight mate again, will just let them get robbed.

After being single for around 6 years I met someone just after Xmas whom I fell for in a big way. We've known each other for a while as she is my mates sister in law and we've just got to the stage where I'm about to relocate to Solihull from Essex to live with her.
After a short bout of illness we found out yesterday that she has Cancer, early stages and all that but I think I can say it's the biggest knock I've had since my old man died from the same cunting disease 6 years ago.

I second that.

Biggest knock so far for me was definitely my dad dying from a clot in an artery (so technically not a heart attack) when he was 59 in 2000. Still difficult in many ways even today.

He was fine apart from a bad back but went to play golf one morning and collapsed walking to his drive on the first tee. Was Captaining the Colts for the first time that day and was in fine fettle at the pre match dinner by all accounts.

I was playing football that afternoon and my ex somehow came and found me. I just ran off the pitch and she took me to the hospital when mum just came out of a side room and said it was too late. I just mentally collapsed and am not ashamed to admit I blubbed and screamed like a 5 year old. Just totally shocked. Saw him in a little room and in many ways wish I hadn't done that.

Always used to go to Upton Park with him and when I go and watch these days even now I miss having him there beside me bellowing out "come on you irons".

Looking back though it was quick for him and at least it didn't happen when he was driving so no one else got hurt.

Too much ... Feel for you and can empathise ... Lost my dad to a horrible disease but at least had a reasonable time with him. As I now too am doing my best to beat it, I fear my 8 year old won't have the memories I had.

I've had a few, but the first was and still is the worst i've been hit.

The old man dying of cancer when i was 27.

One month after i moved into my first house with a mrs who was 7 months preggers with what would have been the first of the 3 grandsons he never saw.

He was only 52 and went 3 days before his 53rd Birthday.

What with him being a bit of an inventor and general DIY god and me being fucking hopeless at the time, never has a son needed a dad to provide help and tops on how to do up an old house.

I saw him in hospital the night before he went, said he was proud i had settled down with what we both thought at the time was a good woman (although she turned out to be a cunt) and that he could "go" in peace.

Got the call 5am the next morning.

All i recall now is being sat on the sofa crying, drinking JD n coke with a big, fuck off, virtual black cloud above my head for two weeks.

The vicar (cunt) even remarked on what a shame it was he couldn't hang on long enough to see his first grandson. The place wept. i just screwed out the vicar thinking there was no need for that.


nothing and no one has got to me since. i can't go back to that place. didn;t shed a tear at my Nan's or Mum's death's...couldn't.


Not see my two youngest now is also a fucking killer, but not as bad as losing the old man.

still dream he's alive now and again.....22 years ago this year.

now I think about it, there was a very friendly and relatively attractive US attendant on the Washington-Munich route. Quite liked my little lad, who she very helpfully offered chocolate ice cream to at 3AM.

Maybe they keep the slags in Economy.

If you want us to swallow that you'll need to provide a few more details. I've done nearly 1,000,000 miles on UA and don't remember ever seeing a spring chicken, never mind a cougar or two.
